Today is my one-year Ravel-versary, and I want to share the joy with you. How about a little contest?
Leave me a comment with either 1) a movie that should be on my Netflix queue; 2) a link to a blog you love to read; or 3) your favorite item you have ever crafted (besides your kids...that's a given, no?)--with a link if applicable.
On Tuesday morning, I'll randomly select three comments. The winners will receive either 1) a skein of hand dyed (by me; summer=dyeing for me!) lace weight yarn; 2) a fabu skein of sock yarn; or 3) a sweet tote that I will sew in colors of your choice.
Yay, Ravelry!
ETA: I'll close the contest at 10:30 East coast time!
Camila, a Brazilian film that is the most profound tearjerker ever. Congrats on the one year!

Saw your note on Ravelry - HAPPY RAVEL-VERSARY!
I thought I would leave you a Netflix queue. If you haven't watched it yet, The Bucket List is definitely tops.
(ps - Happy first anniversary, too - here's to MANY more)

My favorite movie is called Train Man and is a Japanese geek-love movie. It makes me cry (in a good way).

I'll also share my favorite crafted item: my Cardigan for Arwen sweater. Love love love it!

Do TV series count for Netflix? If so my kids and I are addicted to Heros, if not, my favorite thing so far is probably Monkey Socks!

Who could turn down a contest that involves wonderful handmade goodies from one of my favorite crafters?
Movie to queue up:
The King of Kong : http://www.billyvssteve.com/
Yes, it's a real documentary, not a mockumentary. Yes, that actually made it BETTER.

Happy Ravel-versary! Mine is a couple of months off but I can't imagine life without it!
I'm going to give you a few things from your list. I have been told that my taste in movies is not appreciated by most other people, so I will spare you that.
The blog I love to read most (and do so only for the sheer hilarity of it all) is The "Blog" of "Unnecessary" Quotation Marks. http://quotation-marks.blogspot.com/
It never fails to make me laugh. :)
My favorite craft project is Butterfly Wrap sweater by Stephanie Ryan at Stitch Diva. Here's a link to mine on Rav: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/magicatt/butterfly-wrap
and here's the one at Stitch Diva: http://www.stitchdiva.com/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=SDS-030

Oh boy, let's see. I loved the movies The Station Agent and American Splendor, both are fantastic. And you can't go wrong with those silly Brits in Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz.
Happy Ravel-versary! I'll see you over at the Mystery Shawl group.

Hmmm...I'll recommend the movie Connie & Carla - one of my all-time favorites!
Blog I love to read...http://www.flowerdust.net
Favorite thing I've made...can't pick just one, but Wing-o'-the-Moth is definitely right up there: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/Persinable/wing-o-the-moth-shawl-or-scarf

Sleepless in Seattle....no matter how many times I have already seen it, i will sit down for another viewing of it and I will cry at the same moments in the movies.

I suggest adding "All About Eve" to your Netflix queue. I can't get enough of Bette Davis. Or you could go for "Gosford Park," which is so wonderfully snarky.
Happy Ravel-versary!

You should have Layer Cake in your Netflix Queue--it's your boyfriend in an almost-funny sort-of crime caper. It's got a dark edge, though, and I think it's some excellent acting from him and Colm Meaney. :D
Also, did you make it to MA S&W? I looked around for you and at one point I thought I saw you, but then the woman turned around and it wasn't you. If you went, I hope you had a good time! :D

How about Lost in America with Albert Brooks and Julie something. Laugh out loud stupid. Bev

If you have not seen "300" you should definitely add it to your queue.

Congrats! I just saw the movie Attonement and thought it was very good. My favorite knit project was a very basic sock, because that really opened me up to the world of knitting :)

I've been searching through my Netflix queue to find something good that's not too new. I really enjoyed Desk Set from 1957, but I have to give a new one of Dear Frankie from 2004.

I don't think this one has been released on DVD yet (I just saw it at the theater), but check out the documentary "Young At Heart". It's about a chorus from Northampton, MA, made up of folks in their 70's and 80's (and 90's!) who sing songs like "Should I Stay or Should I Go" by The Clash. They have toured all over Europe and sell out every local show. Moving and funny and inspiring.
